Fishy Stamp Set Illustrations

Phyllis & Finn the fish handmade card by Jill Dewey Hawkins.
Meet Phyllis & Finn the fish!  This is the June Animal House release at Technique Tuesday. The watercolor background is inspiring.  I have so many visions of variations on this technique.  Can't wait to play.  Jill is one of the designers at Technique Tuesday.  I always love what she works her magic with my illustrations.

Here's the full stamp set.  Goofy sayings!  I had help with the words.  I'm working on a giraffe right now.  Pretty sure her name will be April The Girrafe.

Love You Owl - Stamp Set

Love You Owl
This is my fourteenth owl illustration for Technique Tuesday.  His eyes are goofy.  I know. He's targeting you with his eyes for lloovvee. Ha!

I have two owls in the queue, one for March and one for April.  The March owl is holding a stuffed rabbit and he's a baby. Eek, I'm excited to share that one. I have a pen & ink drawing of the April owl idea on Instagram. That one is pretty normal but should be fun to color.

We made a bunch of projects last Tuesday with the new release. My friend Karen and I used this little cutie. There's a stamp set called You Aren't Normal that I think is perfect for all the things you REALLY want to say in a card! Karen used those sentiments on her card.

Watercolor On Digital Stamps

I printed the PDF (four 3″x4″) on white card card stock AND on a 90lb. watercolor paper.  I used some watercolor pencils but I don’t like the effect. That blue ghost (top left) looks like color crayon.  Instead I used my water brush (I’ll attach an image of the water brush below this post) to wet the ghost then I brush the color off the pencil and added it to the wet ghost.  That’s how I achieved the dark gray color on the ghost next to the blue one. No hard lines on that ghost. I used copic markers on the sheet that’s blurry in the top of the picture. I have LOTS of images to work with.  I want to attach some of them to Halloween party bags. FAIRY BABY SHOWER INVITATIONS

Invitations for my SIL baby shower.  She LOVES fairies so I found images online printed them on vellum and cut them out.  Embellished with a little glitter and there you have it! :)  These are drying on my craft table.  One of my many craft tables.

On another note.  I had a preschool assistant job for about four days.  Hours 11:15am - 2:45pm PERFECT!Turns out, today, I went in for work (technically my first day) and was told I'm not flexible enough.  It's true...I'm not able to be at work early or late.  I needed set hours and I couldn't compromise the kiddos.  You better appreciate that someday KIDDOS! :)

GREETING CARDS

These are hand drawn cards I made for my MIL. I thought they would be handy quick greeting cards she can pull out for any occasion. I made three airplane cards especially for Peg to send to my Mom. Mom loves airplanes and requested I make them. My Mom's are cute!

My new favorite detail to add to drawings/paintings are those little jewels, I put one in the center of the aqua colored flower below. So classy! Just a little bling, yes please. :)

And of course the "man" card. For the men who need a greeting card but really? What do you give a man? :) FISHING LOURE what else? :)A tiny bit of glitter added to most of the rest of the cards. Glitter on the wings of the dragonfly, teeth of the bat, horns of the giraffe and dots on the cherry blossoms etc......
