RAINBOW TREE

I have been working on this tree for the past week.
I had an idea that I would do a rainbow undercoat on the tree trunk and built the layers.
The sky was tricky.  The dark colors like to make hard nasty lines.  I had to make the sky darker and darker.
Here it's almost finished. The color of the trunk turned out pretty good.
Every year or two we have guests come stay at our house.  This year we had a family of four.  They are really cute and quiet but they never help out or clean up after themselves.  My boys are somewhat selfish and don't like to share food with the guests.  Finally they overstayed their welcome ( I noticed the evidence of their existence) and we had to ask them to leave.  So awkward!
We've established a program in our house, Hess Catch and Release Program, to help our guests relocate.  This year they were all happily relocated to a duck pond near by.  My husband is hoping they won't migrate back to our house.  I reassured him the duck pond is over a mile away and not to be insensitive but these guests aren't really mentally capable of finding their way back.  I guess they don't have enough resources either.  They don't have a car!

Wow, this is gorgeous - I love that tree - the quirky lines and the colours all look wonderful.

The mouse story is so cute. We have a little family as well but so far they seem to be happy enough to stay outside and share their dinner with the many birds who frequent our bird feeders. I removed all the vicious mouse traps left in the eaves by the previous owners and if need be we'll do it the same way as you - wonderful!!

Loving your new tree Tam, it reminds me of a Klimt style tree I saw in a book this week.

Your tree painting is beautiful. It reminds me that there are many things that I still want to paint!

I think it's very respectful of you, the mice to give a second chance. They are actually very cute. We live here with two males, because they have no chance, unfortunately, often ...
Hugs and HPPF

It took me a little while to grasp what you meant about visitors and then I caught on. Great story and so good that you catch them and set them free. Love your tree. Nice work on it. Happy Easter.

The tree has a lot of energy and the colors are beautiful. It's amazing how an idea comes then it transforms itself as you work on it. You handle the color very well. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to more.
