LETTERBOXING ANYONE?

Sorry PPF Peeps, I had the wrong link in the Paint Party Firday Link up.  Here's the current post....
Here's how ya do it! Go online here: http://www.letterboxing.org/ find a letterbox in your area. Print out the clues and  just like a treasure hunt you follow the map.
We ended up at a park in Tualatin right in front of this tree!
You never know if you did it right or if the letterbox will still be there.
Hooray it was there!  Cute camo box :)
Looks like Paul found this one on Atlasquest.com not letterboxing.org? Well, guess I didn't realize there were other sights.  Funny I'm just now finding this out. :)
Inside the box is a hand carved stamp.
They also have a little book.
Here is my letterboxing book.
This is my hand carved stamp.
We stamp our stamp in their book. With a date and message, whatever  you want.  I don't think the stamps need to be hand carved.  Any stamp will do.  I think it's a fun excuse to carve a stamp.
We added the stamp that was in the box to our letterboxing book.  The name of this letterbox was "Secret Pup" cute stamp!  These letterboxes are all over the country.  Maybe the world?  For instance, I know there are about five at the Portland Oregon Zoo.  Another fun place we've found letterboxes is at coffee shops.  The boys LOVE the treasure hunt aspect of the experience.
Now you've gone letterboxing.  What do you think?
More bears to share....
This one is done with colored pencil as well as pen.
Hug and Happy PPF, Happy SS!  I was so slow visiting you guys last week....I'll be on the ball this week I promise!

Very impressive! And I thought carving a simple leaf was an accomplishment. I can't imagine having the ability to carve dogs or bears. Simply wonderful post for PPF, Tam. Love it.

this sounds like SO much fun!
I stumbled on one of these once on a local trail. I sat and went through the box and realized it must have been left there on purpose. I looked it up on line and was pleased to find info about it. So fun to see your adventure!

What a fun find!
And more adorable bears...I can easily see some of them turned into cloth creations and story book characters!

How fun! I've only done geocaching so far. Love the idea with the different stamps, so now off to check if there are any letterboxes in my area. Happy PPF!
